Sony Reader Forums (SRF) Rules

No one likes rules, and we don't like enforcing them, but to ensure the future of the board and make the whole board attractive to as many people as possible, there are a few simple rules we expect you to follow. The following rules were created with the intent of building and maintaining a friendly and welcoming community regardless of age, gender, or nationality. These rules should be adhered to at all times (and by all users) to make Sony Reader Forum a community for all to enjoy and participate in.

  1. 1. General Rules

    1. While these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure the site is not disrupted or abused in any way.#
    2. We reserve the right to edit or remove any user-generated content at any time on the site. The determination of what is construed as indecent, vulgar, spam, etc. as noted in these rules is up to staff and not users. In addition, we reserve the right to ban (temporarily or permanently) anyone who willfully violates the board rules, as access to the site is a privilege and not a right.#
    3. No Abuse of SRF messaging systems (PM's, IM's, and email form)- Personal Messaging is provided to the members of the Sony Reader Forum as a service intended to enhance the Community experience. The purpose of personal messaging is to allow for discreet conversations to take place between members. This privilege is not to be abused! Solicitation, spamming, or harassment of any kind is strictly forbidden. Any member receiving an inappropriate personal message should forward that message to an Administrator or Moderator right away. Although PM's are normally only accessible by those who send and receive them, they are part of the database and as such, property of The Sony Reader Forum. An Administrator, if so inclined, could locate the Private Messages in the database and read them. They are private, but not necessarily secret. In addition, Private Messages are not intended to deprive the Community of valuable information or experiences which could benefit the entire group. Please do not use private messages if the content of the message can be helpful to others.#
